Representative Matthew Overcast proudly serves the people of Missouri House District 155, representing Douglas, Ozark, Taney, and Stone Counties. A lifelong resident of the Ozarks, Matthew embodies the values that define our region — faith, family, hard work, and community.
Born and raised on a family farm in Douglas County, Matthew learned early the importance of perseverance, responsibility, and service to others. After graduating from Ava High School, he earned degrees from Drury University and Mitchell Hamline School of Law, and later became a licensed Missouri attorney dedicated to standing up for families, small businesses, and rural communities.

Before entering public service, Matthew proudly served in the United States Air Force as a Tactical Aircraft Journeyman and Dedicated Crew Chief, maintaining aircraft and supporting critical missions that kept our nation safe. His military service, combined with his own experience as a service-connected disabled veteran, continues to drive his advocacy for veterans’ rights, fair benefits, and government accountability.
Matthew’s experience as a small business owner and attorney gives him firsthand insight into the challenges faced by entrepreneurs, farmers, and working families across southern Missouri. He knows what it means to meet a payroll, navigate red tape, and fight to keep local businesses alive and thriving.

In the Missouri House, Representative Overcast has focused on education reform, business development, rural healthcare access, government accountability, and protecting individual liberties. He is a strong advocate for teachers, parents, and small business owners, and has earned a reputation in Jefferson City as a go-getter who never backs down and refuses to be ignored when it comes to fighting for his district.
Whether it’s defending parental rights in education, cutting red tape for small businesses, or ensuring that rural Missouri gets its fair share of infrastructure investment, Matthew Overcast stands up for the people he represents — and gets results.

Matthew and his wife Jessica, a dedicated teacher, are raising their five children in Ava, where they remain deeply involved in local schools, community events, and their church. His life and leadership are guided by faith, service, and a deep love for the Ozarks.
Representative Overcast is committed to ensuring that Missouri remains a place where families can flourish, businesses can grow, and freedom endures for generations to come.
